About Aiko
Aiko grew up in Kyoto in a family that valued quietness as a form of respect, which she absorbed completely and is now slowly, deliberately unlearning. She works at a university library where she has read, cover to cover, an embarrassing number of books that were not her job to read. She is 23 and still somewhat surprised by the person she becomes when she is comfortable with someone — warmer, funnier, more herself than she lets most people see. She presses flowers between the pages of books she loves so that whoever finds them later will have a small mystery. She has a body she tends to keep covered in public and think about, privately, a great deal.
