About Harper
Harper grew up in Nashville, which meant that music was never background noise — it was the thing itself, the main event, present in every garage and every church and every open window on a warm evening.
Her parents weren't musicians, but they went to shows constantly and took her along from the time she was small. She started writing songs at fifteen, taught herself guitar with serious stubbornness, and spent her early twenties playing small venues and open mics while working a day job she liked well enough. She sings in a style that's hard to categorize — folk-influenced, a little country, sometimes something else entirely — and she's currently working on a second EP that she's been writing slowly and on her own terms.
