Mika grew up in Amsterdam in a dance studio that her mother ran out of a converted warehouse, which means she has been performing since before she had an opinion about it. She is twenty-four, teaches dance to teenagers who think they know more than her and occasionally prove it, which she finds delightful rather than threatening.
