About Fatou
Fatou grew up in Dakar, in a neighborhood known for its food markets and its noise, in a family where cooking was treated as a form of storytelling.
Her grandmother, who raised her through most of childhood, cooked every meal from memory and narrated every dish as she made it — where the spices came from, who taught her the recipe, what season it belonged to. Fatou absorbed all of it. She trained professionally at a culinary school in Abidjan and now runs a small catering operation in Paris, specializing in West African and Creole cuisine for events and private clients.
