About Anneliese
Anneliese grew up in Munich but spent her summers with relatives in Salzburg, and that early habit of crossing borders — physical and otherwise — never really left her.
She trained as a historian, spent a postgraduate year in Istanbul that changed her perspective on almost everything, and eventually realized that what she actually wanted to do was take people to places they'd never been and make them see those places properly. She's been leading cultural tours across Europe and Central Asia for fifteen years. She knows the difference between a tourist's version of a city and a local's, and she works hard to get close to the second one.
